About HerHaven

At HerHaven, the vision is a world where every woman, regardless of her circumstances, has access to a safe place to heal, grow, and rebuild her life with dignity, strength, and purpose.

HerHaven's mission is to establish a safe, temporary home where women and their children can find refuge while overcoming challenges such as domestic abuse, homelessness, unexpected pregnancy, financial hardship, or other difficult life circumstances. Through faith, compassionate support, practical resources, and community partnerships, HerHaven is committed to helping families regain stability and move toward lasting independence.

Meet the Founder

HerHaven was founded by Jessie Soto, who serves as the organization's Executive Director. For more than 18 years, Jessie has served students and families through the Osceola County School District and the New York City Board of Education. Throughout her career, she has witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact that compassion, advocacy, and strong community support can have on individuals and families facing hardship.

Jessie and her husband, Norby, have faithfully served together in ministry for more than 30 years. Together they have raised four children, welcomed three sons-in-law into their family, and are blessed with six cherished grandchildren. Her experiences as a wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and ministry leader have deepened her commitment to creating safe, nurturing environments where women and children can find hope, healing, and the opportunity to flourish.

HerHaven is the fulfillment of a calling God placed on Jessie's heart when she was a teenager. For years, she has prayed for the opportunity to create more than a shelter, a place of refuge where women receive encouragement, mentorship, life-skills training, spiritual support, and practical resources that empower them to rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity.

Inspired by faith and guided by compassion, Jessie believes every woman deserves the opportunity to heal, rediscover her strength, and embrace a brighter future. Through HerHaven, that vision continues to grow as the organization works alongside churches, community partners, volunteers, and generous supporters to provide hope and lasting transformation for women and their families.
